Campaigning for more stem cell donors in Denmark

Having been in a situation of lacking a stem cell donor for three years to cure my leukaemia I know personally

the need for more donors in our region. I went through transplantation in 2011 and now it’s my turn to contribute. I’ve started to put my experience in mobilizing campaigns to good use in a cooperation with my patient organisation LYLE and Kræftens Bekæmpelse. We hope to create a larger pool of stem cell donors in Denmark somehow. We have just embarked on the venture, scoping arguments, identifying stakeholders and potential alliance partners and I’m quite open to the outcome: A very focused campaign towards blood banks (administering donors), a larger political campaign toward the regulation of donating or funding of a new medical procedure with stem cells from umbilical cords. A quite open ended process. It all depends on what expert advise, stakeholder wishes and political climate we meet underway. Stay tuned for our reality-campaign-sequel right at this channel.
